A Word From Our Pastor

Welcome to Shepherd of the Hills!

Pastor Rick Neu

I'm Pastor Rick Neu. I'm glad you stopped in for a visit!

Shepherd of the Hills is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We’ve been in the Montpelier area for over 40 years. In that time we have seen a lot of changes as you have in your life. Church has changed as our world and needs have changed.

Shepherd of the Hills is nestled at the corner of Derby Lane and Northfield Street. We are active in our communities, with the food bank, assisting single mothers with children, and involved with local, national and international outreach programs.

We are an older congregation that values the gifts and abilities each person brings to the life of the congregation. We are a small group that cares for, and looks after, one another. There is no hiding when you come to church, but you won’t be smothered either.

If you are looking for a place to have your spirit fed, I invite you to visit us. Our worship is vital and timely and the preaching is Biblically based. You will leave with something to think about for the rest of the week.

COVID-19 has changed the way we worship for the time being. We meet together on Zoom every Sunday morning at 9:30 am. You will find the Zoom link and a link for the service bulletin on our main webpage.

In these difficult days of isolation, separation and anxiety, it is more important than ever to feed our spirits with the love and grace of God and surround ourselves with companions for support.

I hope you will visit with us on Sunday to have your spirit filled and your burdens lightened.

Your brother in Christ,

Pastor Rick Neu
